Features of the layout of apartments in Turkey

In Turkey, when describing the layout of apartments, numerical designations such as 1 + 1 or 2 + 1 or 3 + 2 are used. In these seemingly incomprehensible combinations, there is also the total number of rooms and their purpose. It's simple: the first number indicates the number of bedrooms, the second number - the number of living rooms, and adding these two numbers we get the total number of rooms in an apartment in Turkey. Thus, 2 + 1 corresponds to a three-room apartment in Russia, and 1 + 1 is nothing more than a two-room apartment. The purpose of the rooms essentially hides their footage, so the living room will always be the largest room in an apartment in Turkey, while the bedrooms will be minimal in area.
There are no standard apartment layouts in Turkey, but general patterns can be distinguished. So, new apartments in the resort areas of Turkey often have a living room combined with a kitchen. Thanks to this feature, living rooms have a large area. Sometimes the space of such a living room is zoned, most often the kitchen area is separated by a bar counter or an arch, and sometimes it is just a common space, where zoning is carried out already by the furniture and decor items by the new owners. Another feature of the layouts in Turkey is the small footage of the bedrooms. If we are talking about a villa, there are hardly any problems with the size of the bedrooms, but in a two or three-room apartment, bedrooms can often be smaller in area than the rooms we are used to. At the same time, ideally, each bedroom has its own bathroom, so a three-room apartment will most often have 2 bathrooms. One bathroom is a guest bathroom and is located in the hallway, the other is usually located in one of the bedrooms. In the case of such a layout, the main bedroom will also be larger in area than the second one, intended for guests, or the nursery.
Balconies are also a nice feature: thanks to the excellent climate, which allows you to enjoy the sun as much as 300 days a year, balconies in apartments in Turkey are practically the second living room, both in terms of area and purpose. The balconies here are always large in size, the balcony in a three-room apartment can reach 35 sq. M! and this is justified, since balconies are used both as terraces, exposing sun loungers on them, and as separate rooms, closing with blackout curtains and installing a sofa with a TV there, but most often a balcony in Turkey is a place where a dining table and chairs made of wicker furniture are installed , sometimes also a barbecue stove, there they dine, dine, drink tea and talk, as in our kitchens.
