The head of the tourism department of the Antalya City Council, Recep Yavuz, provided reporters with pleasant statistics on the number of tourists arriving at the southern Turkish resort since the beginning of the month.

According to him, from July 1 to July 4, more tourists arrived through Antalya airport than in the whole of July 2020, which the entire tourism industry of the country was on the verge of a crisis. As Yavuz noted, if 226 thousand tourists visited Antalya last July, then in the first 4 days of this month the number of foreign passengers arrived exceeded 235 thousand.

The head of the department also noted positive dynamics compared to 2020, noting that the number of tourists in the first half of the year increased threefold - from last year's 530 thousand to 1.55 million in the first 6 months of 2021.
